Year 4 is such a wonderful year and we are really looking forward to our new learning and exciting times to come.  We are building on all of our previous learning in Year 3 and will have lots of fun along the way. We love sharing our work with you as we continue through our busy year. Make sure you check out our webpage and Instagram for regular updates and new pictures of your child's learning. From making electrical circuits in Science to learning all about North America in Geography, our learning is always interesting!

Homework

Homework will be uploaded to Seesaw every Thursday. Paper copies will be available to those children who need them. Homework should be completed for the following Wednesday. Homework consists of a piece of Maths, a piece of writing or a reading task and spellings. Children are expected to read their school reading book daily to an adult and record this in their reading diary. Additional reading of choice may also be recorded in the reading diary. Reading diaries should be brought into school daily.

Multiplication Check

Please be aware that Y4 children are also working towards their statutory multiplication tables check (MTC) this year. It is the Government's expectation that by the end of Y4, children can fluently recall their times tables up to 12x12. Schools will have a one week window in June to administer the test. You will receive more information about the MTC closer to the time, and we ask that you support your child with their times tables homework as much as you can.
