Operation Encompass
As a school we work closely with all safeguarding organisations to protect the children in our care. Our school is part of a project that runs jointly between Merseyside schools and Merseyside Police. This project is called Operation Encompass. It aims to support children who are affected by domestic violence by ensuring that their school is informed. This then allows the school to provide intervention and support the children. Our trained Key Adult is Mrs Gillespie (Headteacher/DSL), who liaises with the Police and uses the information to support our children.
What is Operation Encompass?
Operation Encompass is a unique Police and Education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people exposed to domestic abuse.
Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools before the start of the next school day when a child or young person has been involved or exposed to a domestic abuse incident the previous evening.
Is it confidential?
The information is given in strict confidence to a school’s Key Adult to enable support to be given dependent on the needs and wishes of the child.
How can I find out more?
Please follow the link below or contact Mrs Gillespie, Mrs Davies or Mrs Chauveau if you are concerned about Domestic violence either in your own home or someone you know.
