Can you believe your children have reached their final year of primary school! There is much to look forward to, not least the RobinWood residential, in March 2026.
In Year 6, all children become buddies to our Year 1 children, which is such a privilege. The children look out for the younger ones and help them in the dinner hall, on the playground and with their reading throughout the year.
Of course, being Year 6 and the oldest in the school, the children have the opportunity to put themselves forward for a variety of different roles of responsibility such as Head Boy and Head Girl and Deputy Head Boy and brand new for this year, we have an Assistant Head Boy and Girl.
The children are working towards their SATS, which, in 2026 start on Monday 11th May to the 14th May 2026.
There will be opportunity for your child to attend Fun SATS club after school. from January 2026.
And...what the children look forward to most about being in Year 6, is the end of year production!

PE and Swimming
- PE is Tuesday and Swimming is on Wednesday. Children are to come to school in their PE kit on our PE and Swimming days.
Homework
- Homework will be given out on Mondays and is to be returned to school on the Friday.
- This will include a piece of maths work, English work and weekly spellings.
- Spelling tests will be on a Friday afternoon
- We expect children to read daily with at least two sessions being recorded in their reading diary. Reading books and reading diarys should be in school everyday to support learning.
